Family Action & the role’s impact:
At Family Action we support people through change, challenge or crisis. It’s what we’ve done for over 150 years. We protect children, support young people and adults and offer direct, practical help to families and communities.

We see first-hand the power of family to shape lives, for better or worse, so we speak up for the
importance of family in national and local policymaking, amplify family voices and represent the changing needs of families in the UK today.

This is an exciting and flexible role for a passionate communicator that has a love for design work. Working closely with colleagues from around the country, you will show a ‘can-do’ attitude as you create and deliver strong marketing and communication materials for a variety of audiences. There is opportunity to help shape the work that we do and how we communicate – externally for our services but also internally, for our colleagues within Family Action.

Main Responsibilities:
• Supporting Family Action services and central functions with the creation and delivery of quality and accessible marketing and communication materials.
• Consistent strong delivery of design and brand compliancy, with first-class proofreading and copywriting skills.
• Communicating with colleagues to help ascertain need and develop campaigns, designs and briefs, and liaising with external suppliers to manage the production process.
• Supporting internal communications to deliver excellence, timely communications.

Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• An interest in or passion for communications (including accessibility) and design.
• Evidence of experience in communications or marketing, and a commitment to continuing learning and professional development.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent IT skills, with experience of MS Office applications and (desirable) SharePoint.

Note: travel to Head Office or other Family Action offices is required at times throughout the year. This includes quarterly directorate days. Travel and sustenance expenses will be able to be claimed back in line with our Expenses Policy.

Benefits:
• An annual paid leave entitlement that commences at 25 working days, rising each April by one day, subject to a maximum of 30 working days plus bank holidays
• Up to 6% matched-pension contributions
• Enhanced paid sick leave, paid family leave provisions and Employee Assistance Programme
• Eye care and winter flu jabs vouchers
• Investing in your professional development with ongoing quality training and career development opportunities

We are forward looking, ambitious and committed to continuous improvement. We are a people focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operates with mutual respect.
