Salary: Grade 2 (Upper) Point 16: £24,971 FTE (£6,074.03 pro rata per annum)
Location: Stroud and the Cotswolds (Stroud Youth Centre and Impact Youth Centre)
Hours: 9 hours per week (part-time)
Contract: Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate and motivated youth worker to join us on our journey to develop and embed our Youth Support Services across Stroud and Cotswolds.

The Youth Sector in Gloucestershire is a diverse landscape made-up of a rich and varied range of youth and community organisations. The Youth Support Worker will play a key role in delivering a high standard of youth work supporting young people across a range of needs and interests, ensuring that they have a voice in decisions that affect their lives.
You will have experience of developing, coordinating and delivering impactful youth activities, and you will be skilled in working with young people from a range of backgrounds who have experienced challenges and barriers to progression in education, family and communities. We are seeking applicants who are positive, empowering, resilient and can work with others to create positive outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Create a safe and welcoming environment where youth feel supported and valued.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of young people by adhering to Family Actions and local safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in community outreach to connect with young people.
• Plan and deliver youth support, workshops, and recreational activities that promote personal and social development.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• A relevant qualification in Youth Work, Education, Health and Social Care Social or a related field (or willing to work toward a youth work qualification).
• At least 2 years’ experience of youth support work in a range of settings.
• Strong understanding of current youth issues and challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage young people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and establish positive relationships with young people.
