Location: ESCAPE Community Allotment, Swaffham (PE37), The Discovery Garden, King’s Lynn (PE30)

Hours: Part-time- 12 hours per week (we would consider splitting into 2x6 hours posts)

Contract: One year fixed term contract with possibility of extension

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate to be able to support autistic adults to engage in gardening, outdoor cooking, woodwork, accredited horticulture training and volunteering opportunities. You will work across ESCAPE in Swaffham and the Discovery Garden in King’s Lynn as part of a small, supportive team.

Main Responsibilities:
• To create inclusive, structured, sensory aware sessions for autistic adults at allotment/garden sites in Swaffham and Kings Lynn.
• To support and build confidence through gardening and other outdoor activities.
• To promote sessions within the local community, focusing on Autism organisations and similar groups.
Main Requirements (for details check the job description and person specification):
• Experience of supporting vulnerable adults with an understanding of autism and sensory needs.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication as required and to be able to build relationships.
• An enthusiasm for working outdoors with an interest in horticulture.
• Appointments are subject to Family Action receiving a satisfactory disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service – Enhanced Level
